How do I know what’s included in the price?

At WA Country Builders, we have what we refer to as the Pinnacle specification, which details everything that’s included in the price of your home. We’ll go through this with you in detail.

Can I make changes to home designs?

Absolutely. You can amend standard designs and floorplans, or work with our team of award-winning designers to create a fully bespoke custom home.

How long do country homes take to build?

Here at WA Country Builders, it is in our best interest to ensure that you are in your new home as soon as possible. The exact time frame on the construction will vary depending on factors such as council approvals, your location, your home design, and some external factors.

Once construction begins, our team will guide you through the process, providing you with regular updates and an expected completion date.

What is the process of buying a home for the first time?

Building your first home is an exciting journey, and we’re here to guide you through every step. Here’s how the process typically works:

Initial Consultation:
Meet with our team to discuss your budget, lifestyle needs, and preferences. We’ll help you choose a home design and land package that suits you.

Finance Pre-Approval:
Get pre-approved for a home loan, including any applicable grants (like the FHOG). We can recommend trusted brokers or work with your lender.

Land Selection & Contract Signing:
Once your ideal block is secured, you’ll sign a land contract and a building contract. We’ll also prepare detailed plans and specifications.

FHOG & Approvals:
We assist you with your First Home Owner Grant application and guide you through building approvals and developer/council requirements.

Pre-Start Selections:
You’ll choose your finishes, colours, and fixtures with help from our interior design consultants to personalise your home.

Construction Begins:
We manage the full build process—siteworks, slab pour, frame, roofing, and interior fit-out. You’ll receive regular updates throughout each stage.

Final Inspection & Handover:
Before handover, we walk you through the completed home for a final inspection. Once everything is approved, we hand over the keys!

How much deposit do I need as a first home buyer?

You might be able to build for a lot less than you think. Less than a 2% deposit could be enough to get you started, if you’re eligible. Our first home buyer experts can help you navigate the low-deposit options and get you started.

What is Keystart and how does it help first home buyers?

Keystart is a WA government-backed lender that offers low-deposit home loans (as low as 2%) with no lender’s mortgage insurance (LMI). It’s designed to help first home buyers enter the property market sooner.

We work with our network of experienced Keystart Platinum Brokers to explore a range of options to help you achieve your homeownership dream.

Can I get any stamp duty concessions as a first home buyer in WA?

If you’re a first home buyer;

  • No stamp duty is payable on homes valued up to $430,000.

  • A concession rate applies for homes valued between $430,001 and $530,000.

  • For vacant land, no duty is payable on values up to $300,000, with concessions up to $400,000.

Am I eligible for the First Home Owner Grant?

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

  • Not have owned residential property in Australia before (with some exceptions).

  • Occupy the home as your principal place of residence for a continuous period of at least 6 months within 12 months of completion.

What is the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) in WA?

The First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) is a one-off payment of $10,000 available to eligible first home buyers who are building or purchasing a new residential property in WA. Unfortunately, it’s not available for established homes.
