What is a display home?
A display home is a complete, fully built home you can walk through in person, rather than a design on paper. It shows you how a floorplan feels at full size, from the proportions of each room to the finishes, fixtures and fittings that come with the build. You can stand in the kitchen, walk the hallways and see the quality of the build for yourself.
Visiting a display home is one of the easiest ways to compare layouts, gather ideas for your own build and ask our team questions face to face. WA Country Builders has display homes open across the South West, so you can find a design close to where you plan to build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Display Homes
Can I change a display home design when I build?
Yes. Our display homes show some of our most popular designs, and most can be adjusted to suit your block, your budget and the way you like to live. If you want to move a wall, resize a room or start from a blank page, our team also builds custom homes. Tell us which display you like and we will talk you through the changes we can make.
What should I look for when visiting a display home?
Focus on how you would actually live in the home. Walk the flow between rooms, notice the natural light, and check that the storage, bench space and room sizes suit your family and your block. Look closely at the quality of the finishes, fixtures and fittings, and ask which inclusions come as standard and which are upgrades. Bringing a few questions with you helps, so you leave with a clear picture of what your own WA Country Builders home could include.
Do I need an appointment to visit a display home?
No, you can visit most of our display homes during their open hours without booking ahead. We are generally open Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holiday Mondays, though a few displays are open by appointment only and hours can change, so check the individual listing for exact times before you head out. If you would prefer a private viewing outside these hours, contact our team and we will arrange a time that suits you.

Can I purchase a display home?
If you’re in the property market, purchasing a display home is a great option.
The benefits include high-specification inclusions, being surrounded by quality properties, and the opportunity to take advantage of leaseback rental returns. You’ll also have less maintenance to do, be able to claim more on depreciation, and enjoy good capital growth and rental returns as the area grows.
One downside is that you won’t be able to customise your home, as you would with a new build. You’ll be paying stamp duty on both the house and land, and the display home could have some wear and tear.
If you have any questions about buying a display home, get in touch with the team at WA Country Builders.
Why visit a display home?
Nothing compares to physically walking through a home and being able to see every design element in real life. Visiting a display home will inspire your own ideas, and help you better understand the type of floorplan and finishes that suit you best. Display homes also allow you to appreciate the quality of WA Country Builders’ workmanship!
