2016 Regional Telethon Home makes an impact

Several years on from building their own home with JWH Group, Yvonne and Ian White found themselves weighing up the opportunity to live and retire in another of the company’s quality builds. However, on this occasion, the money would be donated to charity and they would have no part in the decision process of building their new home. Mr and Mrs White were the successful buyers of the 2016 Regional Telethon home situated amongst the pristine countryside of Denmark’s Springdale Beach. Designed by the Rural Building Company and built by sister company WA Country Builders, this home encapsulates the best of classic rural-style living with quality decking and stonework, polished concrete floors and a towering 300mm bush pole setting the scene in the grand free-form living space. WA Country Builders General Manager of Lower Great Southern (Albany and Esperance) Todd McGregor said the 3095sqm block was donated by LWP Property Group and the build was cleverly completed by a number of contributing local businesses. “The planning involved in a project this big takes care and the outcome is a home that feels comfortable, modern and completely functional all the while being stunningly beautiful,” he said.

“The design needed to be flexible enough to suit a range of buyers from large families to downsizers to those wanting a holiday home, and it was designed specifically for the lot taking into consideration the northerly aspect, contours and views to the hills.” The new owners, Mr and Mrs White, were over the moon with the finished result and said judging by the number of interested buyers they felt relieved their offer was accepted. “We really liked the light, open living areas, plentiful storage, choice of tiles and cabinet finishes and outdoor facilities including the established garden,” Mrs White said. “The area is still close to Denmark and being a larger block with a rural outlook, it gives us a bit more freedom.” The well-zoned home incorporates four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a home theatre and an office spread across 259sqm of quality, contemporary-styled living space. The design and final touches feature many different pieces from local artists and businesses, including a custom made rusted screen for the office and a beautiful fire pit, which was made by a student from WA College of Agriculture in Denmark.

Finished with smart wiring throughout, a waterwise garden and a solar system and water tank, the home serves as a firm example of the expectations of the sustainable living ethos in this beautiful regional town. Also marketed as a display home, this Denmark property is open to the public until January 31 on Wednesdays from 12-4pm and weekends from 1-5pm.
