A room-by-room tour of the Eucalyptus

There’s something wonderfully familiar and comforting about the Eucalyptus.

Maybe it’s because our designer was inspired by classic elements, such as tumbled red brick, painted weatherboards, gables and exposed rafter ends.

Maybe it’s the colours of nature and the earthy, natural materials.

Or maybe it’s simply because the Eucalyptus is inviting and so easy to live in.

There are welcoming, family-sized spaces where everyone can catch up, whether it’s the chit-chat and activity of day-to-day life, casual get-togethers with friends or special-occasion entertaining.

Then there are the four big bedrooms, two stylish bathrooms and individual areas for relaxation, work, hobbies and quiet time.

And let’s not forget the spacious, flowing layout that has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of views to the front and the rear of your block.

It’s not surprising the Eucalyptus is the perfect all-rounder.

You could say it’s classically charming, but with all the contemporary features a modern home demands.

Let’s take a tour of the Eucalyptus room by room, starting at the front door.

A nod to tradition: Tumbled red brick, painted weatherboards, fresh white joinery and exposed rafter ends make for a timeless combination. The front porch, with its impressive raking ceiling, connects to a wrap-around verandah with space to sit and enjoy the view. Glass double entry doors open into a wide, light-filled entry hallway.

Space to think: If working from home is an option, why not have a dedicated space that encourages focus, clear thinking and creativity? A barn-style door makes a statement and ensures you can close the door on work at the end of the day. With room for a built-in library, the study is also the ideal quiet-time space.

A twist on the everyday: We positioned the living area to the front to capture a view and included a high feature ceiling to accentuate the feeling of space, height and volume. The open-plan living space flows effortlessly into the dining area and kitchen, creating a big, bold area everyone will want to hang out in.

Chef central: As well as plenty of cupboards and benchtop, and a generous island bench with breakfast bar and feature shelving, the kitchen also has a bonus scullery area where you can hide the fridge/freezer. Glass stacker doors lead from the kitchen straight out to the large alfresco, making it easy to join the two spaces together.

Outdoors is indoors: Glass stacker doors on two sides of the alfresco provide a seamless connection between the outdoor living space and the indoor living space. High ceilings combine with the big expanses of glass to emphasise the sense of volume and openness.

The big picture: A barn-style door adds a fun touch to the home theatre, while raking ceilings prove the drama isn’t just on the big screen, plus there’s loads of room for the whole family to chill out.

The organisers: Not one, but two drop zones have been included. Space for those keys, phones and try-not-to-misplace-them items is a handy addition to any home. We’ve added a drop zone close to the laundry as you come in from the garage and another as you head into the master suite.

The suite life: The main bedroom is super-sized, featuring an ensuite with double vanities and walk-in shower, plus a dressing room and space for a dressing table. A wall of glass doors offers up an outdoor vista and invites you to enjoy your morning cuppa outside. The barn-style door to the ensuite is practical while maintaining the open-plan vibe. All in all, it’s a lot of luxury to enjoy at the end – and beginning – of your day.

Hobby time: With three good-sized minor bedrooms, you may find there’s space to set up a hobby room.
