Testimonials

May 2008

I would like to also take this opportunity to thank everyone at WACB. I commenced building back in January 2006 at a time when the building industry was having great difficulty obtaining skilled workers due to heavy demand on the labour force.

The build started on time and progressed without a hitch until it was completed exactly on time one year later.

We have not had one single issue with the house in the fourteen months we have been here. We did not even have to call you back to complete maintenance, there was nothing to do, not even a settlement crack.

When I called you on Monday regarding the above issues they were rectified at the start of business next day.

I would not hesitate to recommend your company and would build with you again in a heartbeat!

Thank you

I would like to thank you and your wonderful team for the help in designing and planning our new home.

This is our 3rd venture into the construction of a new home and by far our most enjoyable.

My wife Naomi was heavily pregnant throughout the early stages and with a lot of nerves we decided to build a new house. You arranged for us to see Tricia Cater who did a superb job of designing our new home and the way she conducted herself is the best I have ever come across by a mile.

Tricia handed us over to Sandy Lyon for pre start and the contract stage. I believe Sandy is a new addition to the team and she is of great value to the company.  Our pre start was also the best we have encountered which was made difficult by our crying and restless daughter. A few unexpected dramas have arisen with the land developers and shire and Sandy has worked through these for us with outstanding results and professionalism.

Please pass on my thanks to all involved in the process and again my wife and I thank you for your help and support.  I will have no hesitations in recommending WA Country to anyone looking for a new home and will not hesitate to build our next home with you.

Thank you to all

It is widely believed that building a new home is a very stressful time and having built 4 homes in the past we can vouch for this.

It's with much pleasure that we write to you and compliment you on the staff that we have had the pleasure to work with during the construction of our now completed new home in Dalyellup.

Mr Derrick Richardson was our first point of contact and he went out of his way to assist both Beverly and myself in selecting the right home for us to build.

Derrick put in numerous hours at our place of residence, at a number of WA Country Builders display homes visits and in his office to make sure that we got the home we wanted to build, he is a true professional in his position as a Housing Specialist and have recommeded him to our friends, Thank you Derrick for all your help and assistance.

The next point of contact was Josie Mell and Josie made both Beverly and I feel most welcome and it was a pleasure to be able to deal with someone who understands what clients want and gives honest answers to any questions asked of them, Thank you Josie for all your help and assistance.

Pre start has always been another stressful time in building a new home but when you are dealing with a true professional in Christine Kirkpatrick this was such an easy selection process for the items that we put into our new home.

Christine was able to show us alternatives to what was offered to us as standard lines and give us honest opinions to the alternate intems that we selected and to see the end result of our finished home we thank Christine for all of her input into making the selection of these items a easy and pleasurable experience, also along the way Christine was able to answer any queries that we had quickly and honestly, Thank you Christine for all your help and assistance.

After 2 supervisisors we were allotted Mr David Miles and we meet David on site when he took over the supervision of the construction of our new home. From this meeting we both Beverly and I knew that we were going to have our new home completed and finished on time.David made sure that the trades followed on after the previous trades had finished and in these times it's not easy to do but David's organisational skills he was able to do this, he at all times kept us informed as to what stage the house was at and what was happening next.

David went on annual leave during late January and early February 2007 and due to his forward planning the construction of our new home still progressed as per what he told us would take place while he was on his holiday and now is completed.

David, Beverly and I wish to thank you for all your help in these difficult times in the construction industry to keep trades following on and to be able to complete the construction of our new home so we are able to move in on the date that we had to vacate our rental property once again thank you for all your help and assistance.

Mr Ristovic we have recommended to some of our family and friends to choose WA Country Builders when looking to build their new home because it's the staff that you have that make it easy and not a stressful time to build your new home.

Can you please pass on our sincere thanks to the staff members that have named above as they are a credit to you and WA Country Builders, we will build with WA Country Builders again as this was a pleasurable experience and we have a true dream home.

Gary & Beverly, Dalyellup

THANK YOU WA COUNTRY BUILDERS (a little ditty)

I popped to the 'Alfresco' to see if it was nice, where I met a
happy chappy whose name was Trevor Wright.
He had a block of land for sale in a position that was just great,
and in making him an offer I did not hesitate.

Andrea gained my signature on that all important form, and
helped me make decisions in which I was very torn.
She introduced me to her style and grace, which I found to be an
honour, (I have to say her fantastic taste has cost me a fair few dollars!).

Josie worked so hard to overcome quiries that were quite tricky,
but with her help my home will be a stunner, (with nothing that
looks 'dickie')!

Then there is Elissa, and really what can I say? I hope her skills
and enthusiasm are reflected in her pay!
Always in good humour and definitely a big smile, she continued
adding changes to my ever increasing pile!

So now its down to Tony to get those tradesman working, do
you reckon a few beers would stop any of them shirking?!

My appreciation to you all in this short 'ditty' I believe that I
have shown, for easing the strain of the stressful business of
building my beautiful home.

Many thanks to you all.

Louise, Dalyellup

Elissa Parody, Trevor Wright and Bunbury WACB

Dear Mr Walter

I am currently building a house with WA Country Builders in the suburb of Dalyellup. (It is about ready to get the roof on at present). My wife and I designed the house over a few years whilst we were living in the UK and on our return to Australia we wanted to find a builder that would provide the same amount of care and attention to our design as we had invested in it. This was to be our 'Dream Home' and after a 'nomadic' existence within the UK Military it was quite important that this house provided everything we hoped it would. It was quite a shock to find that some builders would not entertain our design whilst others took a cursory look at the plan and 'ran with it'.

WA Country Builders was not in our original list of builders. You were actually recommended to us by our Building Society manager. High praise indeed! So we duly approached Trevor Wright in Bunbury with our plans. He did the unthinkable!! He looked at our plans, spoke to us about the concept we had and then made some positive suggestions. He even (and, I must admit, I panicked when he told me) made small alterations to our plan.

Shock and horror!

His changes were extremely good and we liked them. So, after a suitable time period we decided to go with the only builder who was willing to build the design in principle but was also prepared to invest time and effort in making the design even better. A big thank you to Trevor.

We were then passed on to a Contract Administrator called Elissa Parody.

Now, I have had a lot of dealings with businesses and corporations. Some have employed good staff and some have employed mediocre staff. Some staff have been customer focused and some wouldn't be able to focus on a customer if they were using self-focusing binoculars. Elissa is unique in my experience.

Professional, with a comprehensive knowledge of her specialist role, pleasant in manner and approach and never once giving the impression that the customer was not always, absolutely and completely the main focus of her attention. No problem in the preparation of the house was too big for her to deal with and no problem was too small for her to grasp and solve.

I like to think of myself as fairly organised and our pre-start meeting was quite quick. However, as the plans were being finalised my wife and I decided that a few things probably could be adjusted here and there. Elissa always handled our queries and concerns rapidly and conscientously. She truly made us feel that nothing was a trouble and that we had her full attention.

I also realise that in no way are we Elissa's only concern. I have no actual idea of how many house builds she is acting as CA for, but I imagine it is a fair few. However, she maintains a customer focus truly second to none. (And not in the cliched way that second to none may sound).

As the build has progressed we have had the little niggling things happen which no doubt affect most house builds. High winds, rain, no bricks, high wind, rain, no chance for brick layers to lay bricks, things on the plan which didn't work in reality, strange letters from my Building Society who thought WACB wanted a second payment for the slab, etc. All of which are relatively minor but enough to send a 'first time' home builder in Australia sucrrying back to the Building Company to find out what was going on.

As I reflect on the incidents each one could have been made much more frustrating by Elissa pointing out that it was not her responsibility, or her problem, or her remit to deal with. Instead she listened to the problem, either resolved it there and then, or took further follow up action to ensure it was dealt with and that I was kept fully informed of the appropriate actions that were being carried out. More importantly, she has never once given the impression that she did not love doing her job or working for the company who employed her. Always positive, always cheerful, always patient, always enthusiastic, and always meticulous in detail.

The house is still in construction, so you may wonder why I am contacting you about this now. (I mean it could all go horribly wrong over the next few months?!) But I noted your company's success at the recent awards. Congratulations! I also noted that the new awards were being framed and hung on the wall of the Bunbury office.

If you continue to win awards it will be because you are continuing to build houses. If you are continuing to build houses it will be because customers come through your front door. If they are coming through your front door, it probably is on the back of personal recommendation from someone who has used you in the past. I will, without hesitation be recommending you to any and all who may listen to me. The reasons I will recommend you will include the overall concept of your policies, sales personnel like Trevor Wright and your company profile, but in by far the largest measure it will be because of Elissa Parody.

Were it not for her effectiveness being hampered, I would urge you to leave the awards you have just won on the shelf and frame Miss Parody. She is a credit to herself, her professionalism and your company.

Thank you for your time in reading this and I hope you have a good day.

Best regards
Ian, Dalyellup

Is there any particular staff member or members you would like to praise?
Ian Lendrum - we really appreciated Ian's assistance throughout the project, his prompt follow up on any concerns and readiness to adapt to our requirements. Very professional. We enjoyed a positive relationship with Ian and learnt a bit about South Africa along the way!

What do you think of your new home?
Fantastic! We love our RBC home. After 3 wks actually living in the house we continue to be impressed by the functionality of the home and its capacity to meet our lifestyle requirements. Good value for money.

In what areas to you believe we rate highly?
Professionalism. Enthusiasm and understanding of clients needs. Building on a rural block (7 acres) outside of a large centre is always challenging but we felt well supported by Ian who displayed a genuine desire to meet our requirements.

Dear Mr Ristovic

We live at Allnutt Street in Bridgetown. We built our house with WA Country Builders and we moved in about 3 months ago.

We are writing to comment on our experience of building with WA Country Builders and specifically to commend the work of Mr Ian Lendrum, site supervisor for our house.

The process for us started in January 2003 when we met with Beryl Thompson in the Bridgetown office to develop some initial plans and a timeline for the project. We found Beryl to be friendly, helpful and accurate in her provision of information regarding both the broader buidling process and our specific house plans. As we lived in Perth at the time of building, a pre-start meeting was organised for us in Osborne Park and we spent a number of hours with Rosemary Costen who also shared her obvious experience and knowledge and assisted us with some of the finer planning details.

Over the following months, we had ongoing contact with Stacey Lilley in the Bunbury office. We made a number of amendments to the original plans and Stacey facilitated this in a timely, understanding and efficient manner.

The person we have had the most contact with during the building process is Ian Lendrum, site supervisor. We liked Ian from our first meeting, finding him reassuring, informative, respectful and approachable and over the following months, we developed some considerable confidence in his experience, knowledge and advice. Without exception his approach has tken our needs into consideration in terms of timelines, inspections, etc. Beause we lived in Perth, he was required to be the 'go-between' on many occasions during the building process and he maintained his patience and friendly manner in what, we are sure, were not always easy circumstances. He has also followed up on all of the minor outstanding details post building. At all times through the process, Ian has been responsive, professional and courteous in his approach and we would like to thank him with this gift to toast our new home and life in Bridgetown.

We would appreciate if you would officially pass on our appreciation and this gift to Ian.

Yours sincerely
Wendy & Tim, Bridgetown
