This icon of Rural Building Company first originated in Pemberton. It was designed to suit the needs of a client. It nestled into a hill and overlooked a small lake. The idea behind the design was to allow the maximum benefits of this wonderful aspect from all of the homes main living area.
It was one of the first homes to incorporate our well known free form living area and its accommodation reflected the needs of our clients today even though it was built some time ago.
A verandah tracks round most of the home, providing protection from the elements; it also allows covered access through the Laundry to the WC if one is working outside. The roof line follows the squint corners and helps the overall home to nestle into the hillside and be part of the environment.
The typical cut and fill into a hillside would not usually provide a normal suburban home with the ability of capturing the views. Keeping the service side of the side of the cut and the living areas on the fill side achieved this aim.
Like all Rural Building Company homes, the Arbour View embraces our philosophies towards the HIA GreenSmart principles.
This was the forerunner of the View series which has been one of our most successful ranges of homes.
